If I see someone walking their dog or checking their mail, I will say "Hello _____" but if they are mowing their lawn I will say nothing because I doubt they could hear me over the roar of a lawnmower and I dont handle rejection well.
I am trying to make it legal to end sentences in prepositions, over.
